Gustavo Dudamel is so proud of his wife’s film

Message from the maestro after Maria Valverde’s debut as a director at the Malaga Film Festival:

Some beautiful memories from the premiere of El Canto de las Manos at the Málaga Film Festival, a film directed by my beloved María that tells the story of members of the Coro de Manos Blancas, as we prepared for our unforgettable performances of Beethoven’s Fidelio. I am proud beyond words of her – her dedication, talent, and passion, which fill every frame of this powerful and moving work.
Thank you to the entire documentary team for telling the story of these profoundly inspiring young people, it offers us a reminder of the power of art and human connection.

Here’s the film trailer. One caveat: any trace of Beethoven’s music has been eliminated.
