Handover at Huelgas

Paul Van Nevel, founder of Belgium’s early-music Huelgas Ensemble in 1971, has named his successor.

The German tenor Achim Schulz, a singer in the ensemble for two decades, will gradually take up conducting responsibilities. Van Nevel, turning 80,will be around for a while.
