Italian baritone, RIP

The death has been conveyed of Alberto Mastromarino, an impressive baritone who appeared in leading roles on may of the world’s great stages, including La Scala, Vienna, Beijing and the Met.

He sang his last Scarpia nine months ago, in a semi-staging in Massa Maritimma, directed by Katia Ricciarelli.

The funeral is tomorrow.
