Italy mourns premier oboist

The eminent Rome oboist Carlo Romano has announced the death of his senior colleague Bruno Incagnoli, retired principal oboe of the of the Rai Symphony Orchestra of Rome. Incagnoli was 88.

Carlo writes: ‘Bruno was not only one of the greatest European oboists, he was a great friend of all; everyone loved him for the way he was, for his character and temperament always joyful and smiling, for me he was a great professional reference. He was the oboist who changed the style and the way of playing in Italy.’
