Just in: Israeli GMD quits Germany

The Stuttgart Philharmonic has let it be known that Dan Ettinger, its general music director since 2015, has left his job ‘for personal reasons’. No further comment is being made.

Ettinger, 53, a former Barenboim assistant, is also music director of Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, and of the Israel Opera in Tel Aviv.
