Just in: Three music magazines are shut down

Just in: Three music magazines are shut down

The immediate closure has been announced at three French magazines, Avant-Scène Opéra, Classica and Pianist, all on economic grounds.

Avant-Scène Opéra, in its 50th year, was unique in devoting each bimonthly issue to a single opera. The final cover will be Giuditta by Franz Lehár.

ASO was acquired by the Humensis group in 2018, the other two were bought a year later. Humensis was bought by the Albin Michel group a month ago and the axe has swiftly descended on its less profitable properties.
