Just in: Top cello of the north

The Halle Orchestra in Manchester has recruited the accomplished Rachel Helleur-Simcock as Leader of the Cello Section.

A former principal cello of Deutsche Oper, Berlin, Rachel has also been a member of the Berlin Philharmonic and of the 12 Cellists of the Berlin Phil.

Quite a coup for the Halle. She will be soloist in the Elgar concerto in the opening concert on September 25, replacing Truls Mørk.
