Karajan’s Japan protege, RIP

We regret to inform you that Professor Shiozawa Yasuhiko (real name: Iiyoshi Yasuhiko, conductor, professor emeritus at Tokyo College of Music, and honorary conductor of the Tokyo Symphonic Orchestra) passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 86 due to pneumonia.

The wake and funeral will be held as follows:

Wake: Friday, January 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. (last entry at 8:30 p.m.)
Funeral and farewell ceremony: Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
