Kronos Quartet’s last man standing

Kronos Quartet’s last man standing

With a double change of violinist and violist, David Harrington is the last survivor of the group he founded in 1973.

‘We listened to several hundred of each instrument,’ Harrington told the San Francisco Chronicle. ‘For me, the personality and desire of each person is so critical. Feeling like we’re in this together and it’s us against the universe, that feeling is really important.’

Present lineup is (l-r): Cellist Paul Wiancko, violinist David Harrington, violist Ayane Kozasa and violinist Gabriela Díaz.
