La Bohème in Montpellier

La Bohème in Montpellier

What better way to celebrate World Opera Day together than with La bohème ? Touching, comic, realistic and romantic, Puccini’s most popular opera is a timeless testament to the power of love to blossom in the face of adversity. Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie’s production is directed by Orpha Phelan and conducted by Roderick Cox, who bring to life a mosaic of larger-than-life characters. Even 120 years after their first incarnation, the friends in this garret remain close to our hearts.  Brought to our readers by Slippedisc, courtesy of OperaVision.

The role of Mimi is sung by  Adriana Ferfecka, Musetta by Julia Muzychenko and Rodolfo by Long Long.  Sung in Italian with subtitles in Italian, French and English.

The Plot:  La bohème is a story of friendship between four penniless artists who lead a bohemian life in a Parisian garret. But it is also, and above all, the story of a deeply moving love affair between a poet Rodolfo and his ravishing neighbour Mimi.
