Label news: Founder quits

Pentatone’s Vice President for Artists and Repertoire, Renaud Loranger, has resigned. The label is owned by San Francisco Coinservatory of Music and changes are apparently afoot.

Renaud says:

Looking back on almost a decade at PENTATONE, there is so much to marvel at, first and foremost the extraordinary roster of artists assembled over the years, and the myriad of ensuing albums. The breadth of repertoire, the scope of ambition, the diversity of perspectives – all rooted in an unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity. My pride and gratitude for the fruits of our labours know no bounds.
The label’s orientations and operations are changing, and this leads to a bittersweet yet natural conclusion: my work here is done.
I am beyond thankful to the artists, the countless colleagues and partners throughout the world who have put their trust in us, and to the few guardian angels who have made their most visionary projects possible. A huge shout-out goes out to our wonderful team in Baarn as well, past and present.
I continue as artistic director of my beloved Festival de Lanaudière and look forward to our season announcement on 15 April.
