Label news: Shake up at Naxos

The Hong Kong-based group has announced new leadership, appointed from within. Founder Klaus Heymann no longer holds a leadership role, to all appearances. Heymann is now the owner of Chandos Records in England.

Here’s the Naxos press release:
[Hong Kong, 18th February, 2025] The Board of Directors of the Naxos Music Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthias Lutzweiler as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Naxos Music Group, effective immediately. Lutzweiler, who has been serving as Acting CEO since October 2024, will be supported by Jeffrey Lien, CEO of Naxos of America, who assumes the role of Global Deputy CEO, and Iwen Schmees, currently CEO of Naxos Deutschland, who will take on the position of Global Chief Operating Officer…

Over the past decade, he has played a pivotal role in driving the growth of Naxos Germany and contributing to the company’s global strategy as part of the senior management team. Appointed Deputy CEO in 2022, Lutzweiler now assumes the role of CEO, leading a team of several hundred employees worldwide.

Jeffrey Lien, Global Deputy CEO
