Lament for hyperactive Boston violinist, 88

Lament for hyperactive Boston violinist, 88

The funeral takes place today for Maynard Goldman, a freelance violinist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops, and concertmaster of Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Ballet and the Portland Symphony Orchestra.

When the (UK) Royal Ballet toured America, Goldman was its leader.

He was Director of Applied Music at Concord Academy and, in retirement, a fixer for most of the ensembles in the state.
