Leipzig Gewandhaus launches own radio channel

Leipzig Gewandhaus launches own radio channel

Message from the ochestra director, Andreas Schulz:

With pride and great joy we look forward to the launch of GEWANDHAUS RADIO on 12 May 2025 – a unique classic channel in the world, dedicated exclusively to the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and the Gewandhouse Orchestra.

The fact that in the future we will be able to present our music, our artists and our diverse activities 24 hours a day via DAB+ in the Leipzig area as well as in the stream worldwide, is a significant step into the digital future of our house.

GEWANDHAUS RADIO is much more than a web radio: it is an invitation to discover the Gewandhaus with open ears – curated, moderated, full of sound treasures from 600 years of music history.
