London principal horn, RIP

The death has been reported of Ted Chance, principal horn of  the Orchestra Of St John’s Smith Square and the English Sinfonia, and a regular member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. A busy freelancer, Ted can be heard on dozens of  pop songs and movie soundtracks.

In later life, he moved to the Isle of Wight.
