London’s doomed South Bank will now shut on Mondays

London’s doomed South Bank will now shut on Mondays

The following message has just gone out from the sinking South Bank Centre:

Important update: Royal Festival Hall closure on Mondays

From Monday 7 April the Royal Festival Hall, including the Members Lounge, will be closed on Mondays as we take measures to reduce operating costs. This doesn’t affect the programming… as performanxces typically don’t take place on Mondays.

This change will ensure that we can prioritise our incredible live cultural events programme and invest in the future of performance.

We should feel so ashamed of the long-running maladministration of this former national asset.
