The death has been announced of Russia’s foremost chorusmaster, founder of the Moscow Chorus Theatre, Boris Pevzner.

The theatre said: ‘The entire staff of the Moscow Choral Theatre is deeply shocked by this irreparable loss.We have lost not only a great master, but also a wise mentor, a man with a big heart and inexhaustible energy. Boris Samuilovich was not just a director – he was the soul of our theater, its creative force and moral support.’
