Musicologist accepts 5,000 damages from US university

Professor Tim Jackson has won his defamation case against the University of North Texas, which has agreed to reinstate him as editor of the Journal of Schenkerian Studies and pay him almost three-quarters of a million dollars in damages and legal fees.

The university had deposed Jackson after his exchanges on racism in 2020 with a New York activist, Philip Ewell, attracted international attention.
