New post for Honeck

New post for Honeck

The Malmö Symphony Orchestra has appointed the Vienna Philharmonic concertmaster Rainer Honeck to be its Honorary Guest Conductor.

The ‘honorary’ renders the title almost meaningless. He won’t have to do much.

Honeck, 64, has been concertmaster of the Vienna Phil since 1992 and a guest with Malmö for 20+ years.

His brother Manfred is music director in Pittsburgh.
