October 7 is heard in a bassoon sonata

October 7 is heard in a bassoon sonata

Newly uploaded:

Boris Pigovat began writing his sonata for bassoon and piano in September 2023. The horrific attack of October 7 interrupted the creative process. The second movement was written months later, referencing the prayer ‘El Male Rachamim’. The finale is a lullaby for the souls of the victims of October 7.

The bassoonist is Uzi Shalev of the Israel Philharmonic. The pianist is Einat Fabrikant.
