Patti LuPone: Kennedy Center should get blown up

Patti LuPone: Kennedy Center should get blown up

The Broadway star Patti LuPone has told New Yorker writer Michael Schulman that the DC arts centre should be eliminated now that it has been taken over by the Tump administration.

‘She’s even angrier at the rest of the country,’ Schulman writes. ‘She told me, more than once, that the Trumpified Kennedy Center ‘should get blown up.’

Richard Grenell, Kennedy Center president, responded in kind: ‘The far left has morphed into violent extremists. This is completely unacceptable – from the same people who claim to be for tolerance and diversity. Everyone should condemn these radicals.’

What do we think? Is it any worse than Pierre Boulez calling for opera houses to be burnt down?
