Rattle’s orchestra confirms all-male section

The Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra has named João Abreu from Portugal as its principal trombone. He has held that position at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf for the past seven years.

The low brass section at BRSO remains resolutely all-male.
