Since the start of the war, two or three ballet groups have been touring Sweden and Finland under Ukrainian flags, collecting money for the national defence.
It now appears all the money has gone to Moscow.
Swedish and Finnish media have disocvered that the company Touring Actors, which presents “Ballet of Ukraine”, is located on a Russian server and is owned by a Moscow entity. The ballet company’s supposed address in Kyiv is a fake. The funds from five events ended up in Swiss accounts owned by a Russian millionaire. Another ‘Ukrainian’ ballet group, Heritage Ballet, had been banned from continuing their Swedish tour by the Swedish authorities as a national security threat.
Ukrainian National Ballet has warned: ‘Only the Ukrainian National Ballet has permission to represent Ukrainian ballet abroad.’
Legal actions is being launched in both Nordic countries against the imposters.
