For those of us who might be missing top flight classical ballet by the top dancers, I thought a dose of the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden would hit the spot. Here are three, one each from Kenneth MacMillan, Frederick Ashton, and Rudolf Nureyev via Petipa.

Principal dancers Natalia Osipova and Vadim Muntagirov perform alongside The Royal Ballet in an eclectic programme of choreography set to music by Shostakovich, Elgar, and Glazunov.

First up is Kenneth MacMillan’s Concerto, a captivating, one-act ballet set to Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2.

Elgar’sEnigma Variations are brought to life in Frederick Ashton’s rarely performed ballet set against the charming backdrop of Victorian England.

The programme rounds out with the spectacular third act of Raymonda, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to music by Glazunov, and seen here in Rudolf Nureyev’s choreography from 1966.
