‘Sexual harrassment’ conductor is kept off stage

‘Sexual harrassment’ conductor is kept off stage

The SWR Symphony Orchestra has notified the media that its incoming artistic director Francois-Xavier Roth is unavailable for this summer’s concerts, ‘following allegations of sexual harassment.’

The Finnish conductor Eva Ollikainen will replce his all-Schoenberg concert in JMJuly with works by Sofia Gubaidulina, Richard Strauss and Jean Sibelius.

Roth has been accused of sending dick-pics to female orchestra members.

SWR takes the information against Roth very seriously and will examine it carefully. The broadcaster’s primary goal is to ensure a transparent and thorough investigation.
