Tarmo takes Polar music to the Israel Phil

Tarmo takes Polar music to the Israel Phil

The Finnish phenom Tarmo Peltokoski is in Israel this week, conducting the Philharmonic in works they’d never have put together otherwise.

That would be Rautavaara’s Cantus Arcticus, the Vasks violin concerto and, after the interval, Beethoven’s 7th symphony.

He’s also having trouble with mosquitos.

Watch.

It looks like he’s an instant hit.
