Top trumpet is beaten up by unhappy student, 14

Italian state radio reports that the renowned trumpet player Sergio Orlandi, 60, has been attacked and beaten as he approached his car by a 14 year-old student he had excluded from his class. The incident took place near midnight in the town square of Inzago, near Milan.

Orlandi was principal trumpet of the Orchestra Ritmosinfonica della RAI Radio Televisione Italiana in Milan until 2003, before developing careers as a soloist and teacher.
