Watch the finals of a launch-pad singing contest

Watch the finals of a launch-pad singing contest

Liz Mohn Foundation’s Neue Stimmen singing competition is one of the world’s most important events for promoting emerging talent. Past winners such as Vesselina Kasarova, Franco Fagioli, Marina Rebeka and Elsa Dreisig testify that those who win in Gütersloh usually find themselves soon after on the world’s great stages. In auditions around the globe – from New York to London, from Amsterdam to Vienna or Cape Town – the expert scouts of Neue Stimmen select the best young singers worldwide.

Neue Stimmen is streamed live for the first time on  Slippedisc, courtesy of OperaVision. The selected finalists have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a prominent jury, which includes chairman Dominique Meyer, artistic director of La Scala in Milan, Brian Dickie, former general director of the Chicago Opera Theater, Sophie Joyce, casting director of the Opéra National de Paris, Sophie de Lint, director of the Dutch National Opera, and Bernd Loebe, artistic director of the Frankfurt Opera. The Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Jonathan Darlington.

Live streaming this Friday 11 October 2024 at 1900 CET,  / 1800 London   / 1300 New York.
