Winchester Cathedral parts from precentor

An announcement was made this morning that Canon Andy Trenier (pictured) had completed his six-year tenure and was departing the cathedral.

Trenier was at the heart of the tumultuous events of the past year which led to the exodus of the director of music and, eventually, the dean.

Congregants say he had not been seen at work during the period.
