Winchester swells to musician’s farewell

Winchester swells to musician’s farewell

Choral evensong  at 3.30pm today will be the final Winchester service led by director of music Andrew Lumsden. A full house is expected with many singers and music lovers past and present driving in from afar.

The numbers will be seen as a protest against the cathedral administration, which has imposed silence on departing staff.

The bishop is conducting an inquiry. This is not over yet.
