Zamira Menuhin, 84

We are sad to learn of the death of Yehudi Menuhin’s beloved daughter Zamira, a benign and constructive figure in musical affairs.

The child of Menuhin’s first marriage to Nola Nicholas, he have her the Hebrew name for song. Zamira took a close interest in the Yehudi Menuhin School and other aspects of Yehudi’s legacy. She was married for nine years to the Chinese pianist Fou Tsong. After their divorce she enjoyed almost half a century of marriage to the anthropologist Jonathan Benthall. She is survived by Jonathan and three children.
