Shock death of major music director, 55

The city of Kiel has announced that its music director, Gabriel Feltz, died unexpectedly on Friday at Essen University Hospital.

Feltz, who was also music director of  the Belgrade Philharmonic, was 55. No cause of death has yet been made known.

Berlin born, Gabriel Feltz spent twelve years as General Music Director of the City of Dortmund. He joined the Belgrade Philharmonic in 2017, swiftly raising standards and earning strong support from the Serbian musicians. Friends say he had repertoire plans stretching several years into the future.
