BBC Proms concert is disrupted by Australia-related protest

BBC Proms concert is disrupted by Australia-related protest

A group calling itself ‘Jewish Artists for Palestine’ caused a ten-minute break in last night’s Melbourne Symphony concert at the BBC Proms.

The group issued a claim to the effect that they had targeted the MSO over its cancellation of a piano recital by Jayson Gillham last year after the artist introduced an element of Gaza protest.

Shouts were heard in the Royal Albert Hall of ‘you silenced Jayson Gillham’ and the ‘MSO is complicit in genocide’.

The BBC apologized to listeners for the brief disruption.

It has not been ascertained if any of the protestors was in fact Jewish, an artist, or in any capacity connected to Palestine.
