Step up for a Russian double-bass

Step up for a Russian double-bass

A generous gesture from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra:

Farewell to Nikita!
After 14 and a half years with the SCO, it is with sadness that we bid a fond farewell to Principal Double Bass Nikita Naumov who will be joining the Royal Scottish National Orchestra as their new Principal Double Bass.
Before he leaves, you can enjoy hearing and seeing him reprise his role as Screature in the Great Grumpy Gaboon in February 2025! He will also be back in March next year as the soloist in Péter Eötvös’ Double Bass Concerto, Aurora.
Nikita has made such a fantastic contribution to the SCO over many years and has been a truly marvellous colleague and a great friend to everyone in our community. We hope you will join us in offering him our very best wishes for his future musical adventures.
