(WASHINGTON)—The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) is excited to announce a new concert titled Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in SymphonyThis remarkable program, scheduled for June 26 and 27, 2025 at the Kennedy Center will bring audiences on a journey through the extraordinary life and music of one of America’s most beloved icons, Dolly Parton, and feature the amazing musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra and Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke.

Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony is an experience that brings Dolly’s original music to life with innovative orchestrations of favorites like “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You,” as well as handpicked personal treasures. With storytelling visuals on screen throughout, audiences will experience a unique performance that honors her enduring spirit and unparalleled impact on American popular music culture. This powerful multimedia concert experience will include guest vocalists and musicians, and offers a fresh symphonic take on the timeless songs of Dolly Parton.

“The threads of my life are woven together through my songs. That’s why the project, Threads: My Songs In Symphony, is so special to me,” said Dolly Parton. “It’s about sharing my music and my musical journey with audiences in a new way.”

More than just a global music legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Dolly Parton is a storyteller whose life—from humble beginnings in the Smoky Mountains to international superstardom—has inspired generations. Her songs are deeply woven with the themes of resilience, love, heartbreak, and hope, reflecting the trials and triumphs of her life. These themes from her life will be felt through the variety of each song of this unique NSO concert.

“Bringing Dolly Parton’s music to life through the power of a full symphony orchestra has long been a dream of mine,” said NSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke. “Dolly is one of the great storytellers of American music and I am excited to bring her expansive catalogue to the Kennedy Center. Through these unique symphonic charts, her music will be showcased like never before and will surely be an evening no one will want to miss!”

Please note: Dolly Parton does not perform in person during these concerts.
