Toronto has new principal bassoon

Playing in the Orchestre symphonique de Québec for the past three years, Marlène Ngalissamy has been named principal bassoon of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Born in Moscow, Marlène moved to Canada at ten years and began learning the bassoon three years later. She won a place in National Youth Orchestra Canada and went on to graduate at the Curtis Institute.
