A capella news: Voces8 loses prime member

A capella news: Voces8 loses prime member

The British octet are suddenly down to seven:

In a momentous moment for the group, we are saddened to announce that Andrea has made the decision to step down as a member of VOCES8. The longest serving member aside from Barney, Andrea has spent her entire career with the group, and been an incredible member of the team for approaching two decades.
We hope our global community of friends and family will come and see her in concert and celebrate her amazing career with the group during 2025.
We wish her all the best for her future adventures. She will always be part of the VOCES8 family.

From Andrea (Haines): ‘After 17 years in VOCES8 it’s very difficult to put into words the impact my time in the group has had on my life and in shaping who I am. I joined VOCES8 fresh out of university, and it’s been an incredible adventure, singing and travelling with some of the most talented colleagues I know, colleagues who have become family.

‘VOCES8 has given me the chance to see the world and meet people who’ve become life-long friends, from Nairobi to Mexico City, Jerusalem to Sydney. It’s been a privilege to be part of the legacy of this unique ensemble, and now it’s time for me to explore something new. I’ll be watching proudly as the group continues to represent the very best in choral music.’
