A music director at the Spanish extreme

The Orquesta de Extremadura, serving Spain’s poorest region on the border with Portugal, has chosen Roberto Forés Veses as its new artistic director. Valencia born, he was previously at the Orchestre national d’Auvergne in France. He also has a relationship with the English Chamber Orchestra.

The Extremadura is a romantic reason with a scanty population. It requires frequent bailouts from Madrid.
