Deutsche Grammophon and Operabase Collaborate on Classical Music Streaming with Integration of CueTV into STAGE+

Thursday 12 December 2024, Berlin, Germany | Copenhagen, Denmark

Deutsche Grammophon’s world-class classical music streaming service STAGE+, and CueTV, a premier provider of opera and concert streaming content under Arts Consolidated ApS (Operabase), are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration to enhance the classical music streaming experience for audiences worldwide.

In a move that will revolutionise the digital landscape for classical music and performing arts, STAGE+ and CueTV are joining forces to deliver a seamless and personalised experience for global classical music fans.

Key Collaboration Highlights:

1. Exclusive Streaming Partnership with Operabase: STAGE+ will become Operabase’s exclusive streaming partner, offering long-form audio-visual productions to Operabase’s extensive user base.

2. Seamless Transition for Subscribers: CueTV and Operabase Pro subscribers will transition smoothly to STAGE+, ensuring uninterrupted access to high-quality classical music productions.

Under this partnership, CueTV will officially cease operations on December 12, 2024, making way for STAGE+ to become the exclusive streaming service for CueTV subscribers, and professional users of Operabase – the leading platform for opera and classical music performance listings and casting.

This partnership strengthens STAGE+ and CueTV’s position in the classical music and opera streaming market by uniting Operabase’s industry relationships

and niche market understanding with STAGE+’s and Deutsche Grammophon’s established global reach, content production, distribution prowess and their partnerships with Deutsche Grammophon artists. The collaboration opens up many opportunities that are closely connected to the artists and arts organisations by comprehensively showcasing the available high-quality video and audio recordings of a given performer or institution, enabling promoters and casting directors to make even better-informed decisions, and attracting a live audience through media initiatives and vice versa.

Both organisations share a common thesis: performing arts fans want a holistic service that integrates both digital and live event experiences. This partnership uniquely positions STAGE+ and CueTV to meet this demand, blending digital innovation with the deep cultural heritage of live performance.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in creating a unified streaming platform that provides opera and concert lovers around the world with unparalleled access to the finest classical music performances.

Statement Ulrike Köstinger, CEO Arts Consolidated (Operabase & CueTV):

“In STAGE+ we have found the perfect partner to be our streaming provider. For Operabase, it is important to offer the best standards and technology to our PRO users, whether to support the casting process of an arts organisation or giving the artists more control over the direction of their career. The power of information technology is greatly impacting the performing arts industry. We are happy to be among the pioneers in this field, and this collaboration with a strong partner like Stage+ (Deutsche Grammophon) represents a shared vision for transforming and supporting the performing arts industry.”

Statement Dr. Clemens Trautmann, President Deutsche Grammophon:

“Operabase has built an impressive user base and tech stack and has successfully ventured into audiovisual streaming with CueTV. We very much welcome our partners at Operabase and their professional and amateur subscribers to share in the state-of-the-art experience of classical music streaming on STAGE+, both in audio and video formats. We are delighted to offer the highly engaged community of Operabase the most relevant and high-quality content in our genre, supported by excellent metadata and immersive technology. The newly established collaboration underlines both Deutsche Grammophon’s

commitment to the world of opera and vocal performance as well as the status of STAGE+ as innovation leader.”
