Angelina Jolie’s piano professor dies at 54

Alexandre Solopov died on January 13 in Montreal, Canada.

Born in Vladivostok, Sasha moved to Moscow at age 16, graduating from the classes of Lev Vlassenko and Mikhail Pletnev. He moved to Montreal in 1996 and taught at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University.

He was piano coach to Angelina Jolie for the film Beyond Borders.
