Concurso Tenor Viñas live today

Concurso Tenor Viñas live today

Founded in 1963 by Jacint Vilardell to commemorate the Catalan tenor Francisco Viñas, the Competition (Concurso Tenor Viñas)  has become one of the major contests in the Opera, Oratorio and Lied world, in which young singers from all over the world take part every year.

To provide an opportunity for singers to take part in other countries, the Gran Teatre del Liceu has an agreement with the opera houses in Madrid, Paris, London, Berlin, Milan, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Beijing for preliminary rounds to be staged in these cities. Streamed live for Slippedisc subsribers courtesy of Operavision from the Gran Teatre del Liceu for the first time, the Competition is in two parts over the weekend of 24/26 January.

The Audition with piano for all finalists is on Friday 24 January, at the end of which the winners are announced.

The Final concert is on Sunday 26 January at which the winners perform accompanied by the Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra.

Live streaming on Friday  24 January 2025:   1500 CET  / 1400  London  /  900 New York
