The Ontario Court of Appeal has ruled that Arsenije Lojovic, the hit-and-run driover responsible for the death of conductor Boris Brott, will serve eight years in jail instead of ten.Lojovic has two prior driving convictions. The judge accepted he was suffering from a manic pahse of his bipolar disorder when he killed the innocent pedestrian.
The victim’s daughter Alex Brott said: ‘The recent decision by the Court of Appeal to reduce his sentence by 20 per cent is not just disappointing, it’s dangerous.
‘It sends a message that repeat offenders can take lives and still be met with leniency. As a family, we are disgusted. As citizens, we are horrified.’
