Dancer has finger cut off in mid-ballet

Dancer has finger cut off in mid-ballet

Reports are still sketchy but it appears that Brazilian star Wagner Carvalho lost a finger while dancing Spartacus at the Kazan Opera and Ballet. The injury occurred in the first act as Carvalho fought a gladiatorial duel with fake swords.
.
The state press office said: ‘The finger of the right hand was damaged, there was an incomplete tear. An operation was performed, and on Monday the prognosis will be clear.’

Carvalho, 30, has been a member of the Kazan ballet company since 2017.
