Death of a US composer in Munich

The composer Laurence Traiger died suddenly on October 18. He was 68. Originally from Bellmore, Long Island, he had lived in Europe since 1976.

Traiger taught at the Munich Academy and the Innsbruck branch of the Salzburg Mozarteum. He worked closely with the Munich radio chorus and specialised unusually in writing for baroque instruments.
