Dutch come first with Gubaidulina

Dutch come first with Gubaidulina

The Concxertgebouw Orchestra has smartly included the late composer’s Offertorium on its tour next week to Hamburg and Vienna. The soloist is Julian Rachlin.

Gubaidulina died on March 13.

Offertorium was the first work by Gubaidulina to be performed by the orchestra, in 1991. With sadness and gratitude, the orchestra looks back on the many collaborations that followed, including concerts to celebrate the composer’s eightieth birthday in 2011.
