Early death of Russian composer

Early death of Russian composer

Friends have reported the sudden passing of Pavel (Pasha) Karmanov, an eclectic Moscow composer who also played in a rock group. The group’s name, Vezhlivy Otkaz, means polite refusal, signifying mild dissent.

Pasha was 55. He had a concert scheduled for December 9.

His compositions were performed by, among others, Alexei Lyubimov, Yuri Bashmet, Tatiana Grindenko, Vadim Kholodenko and Polina Osetinskaya.
