Fiins face arts cuts

Fiins face arts cuts

The epic Savionlinna Festival has cancelled two events this summer for logistic and funding reasons. Its artistic director says:

This difficult decision was influenced not only by logistical challenges but also by significant cuts to cultural funding, affecting both national and local financial support.

Despite these setbacks, the Savonlinna Opera Festival remains committed to delivering exceptional and diverse opera experiences. The festival presents world-class performances in the stunning setting of Olavinlinna Castle, offering audiences unforgettable musical moments in one of Finland’s most iconic cultural venues.

It’s getting tougher everywhere.
