Strenuous efforts to produce a gender-balanced outcome at the Leeds Piano Competition have apparently paid off.
The five finalists, announced last night, are:

Junyan Chen (China)
Jaeden Izik-Dzurko (Canada)
Khanh Nhi Luong (Vietnam)
Julian Trevelyan (United Kingdom)
