Italian opera mourns esteemed Sovrintendente

The Teatro Comunale di Bologna and its symphony foundation have announced the death of Francesco Ernani, their Sovrintendente from 2011 t0 2015.

He was 87.

Before Bologna, Ernani was successively sovrintendente of the Arena di Verona, the Genoa Opera House, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Rome Opera House.
