Just in:  million Strad breaks 14-year record

On violinist.com, Laurie Niles reports the private sale of the 1715 Baron Knoop Stradivarius violin for a world record $23 million. The last record was set in 2011 when the 1721 Lady Blunt went for $15,875,800.

The Baron Knoop was owned by US collector David Fulton, who bought it in February 1992 for $2.75 million.
